| Hoffman Haus is truly unique, an enchanting compound of mid-nineteenth century buildings tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, yet, only one block from the historic district. Founded in 1994 by Edgar Watkins, a designer from New York with San Antonio roots, Hoffman Haus was built around one of the original German homesteads in Fredericksburg. The Basse House, constructed by the Basse family in 1855, is a beautiful testament to the lovely architectural styles used by German immigrants when building with local stone and timber. Our Great Hall, the center of much activity at Hoffman Haus, is constructed around a log barn dating from the 1840’s and two of our suites, Morning Star and Evening Star, are situated in an 1845 log cabin brought from Kentucky. The Bluebonnet Suite occupies what was once the old stone barn for the Basse family. As you wander our peaceful Texas Garden please note the old stone wall that still stands to this day. |

Hoffman Haus welcomes pets and their owners.
We accept any well behaved pet under 50 pounds.
Our pet designated rooms include Morning Star, Evening Star, Bunkhouse, Bluebonnet, Calico Cottage and The Basse House.
There is a limit of up to two pets per room.
Pets are allowed throughout the property on a leash. We ask that the owner clean up after their pet.
Pet treats are provided for breakfast.
We have extensive gardens where owners can walk and exercise their pet.
We require that pets be crated when the owners are not in the rooms. Your pet may be left unattended in the room as long as they are crated.
If an unattended dog barks uncontrollably when the owner is out of the room, Hoffman Haus management will contact the owner and ask that he/she return to get their dog.
If there is a need to cancel, please do so within 10 days of your arrival date. |

Special events such as meetings and seminars for up to fifty people may be scheduled in the Great Hall and Main Lodge.
Great Hall Rental is $150.00 per day plus tax
The rental price includes use of the Great Hall and Main Lodge, the dining room, library, wine room, front and side decks. This also includes the use of our four 6’ rectangle tables or our six 60” round tables, the linens needed to cover them and fifty chairs.
Hoffman Haus will be responsible for set up and breakdown of your event. The fee also includes coffee set up & water throughout your day. Meetings must be scheduled between 9am & 5pm. |

Hoffman Haus has a well deserved reputation for it’s gourmet
breakfasts, which are delivered in a basket to your door at 9 am in the morning.
If you have any special dietary needs please inform our manager. Feel free to enjoy
