Cedar City is ideal for visiting the ever more intriguing natural phenomena, the inspiring vista of Zion National Park, offers a dramatic landscape of naturally sculpted canyons and soaring cliffs, rushing waterfalls and green forests that makes Zion much more greener than the other National Parks of Canyon Country, this striking scenery was carved out by rushing streams over a period of millions of years. It is located where the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin and Mojave Desert meet in the state of Utah. Rock formations rise like ethereal cathedrals from the floor of Zion National Park. Red walled canyons open into lush green valleys along the banks of the Virgin River and beside the shores of the Emerald Lakes. <br><br>Marvel at the pinnacles and arches of Bryce Canyon National Park and its giant amphitheatres of limestone one of the world’s geological masterpieces with its 20 mile ledge of psychedelically colored rocky spires, fins and mazes known as ‘hoodoos’ pillars and pavilions of breathtaking sandstone cliffs with some of the earth’s most brilliant shades, it’s like a landscape from another planet, admire it as it catches the sunlight in fantastic color contrasts. Ascend the Punsagunt Plateau to see the natural beauty of the arches and rock formations that make Bryce Canyon. To the south and east of Escalante a small ranching town along the Escalante River are the rugged red rock desert canyons of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument near the town of Glendale, with its amazing formations, definitely worth stopping to explore. You can indulge in plenty of fun outdoor activities as well as sampling the delights of the region. <br><br>The town of Tropic not far from Panguitch is filled with some beautiful vistas, plateaus and sunsets that can dazzle the eye, the amazing terrain varies from red rock to high mountain forests. Many western films were filmed in Tropic and Kanab, known as Utah's Little Hollywood because of the large number of motion pictures that were filmed in the surrounding area. The town of Rockville lies in a beautiful green valley with the Virgin River running through it, while Saint George known as "Utah's Dixie" provides some of the most beautiful scenes found anywhere. You’ll find ghost towns, canyons, coves, deserts, streams, swimming holes, pioneer buildings, horse back riding, bicycling, hiking and much more, with 10 golf courses and a spa to enjoy. Other interesting towns in the Color Country area offering an array of stunning natural sights and convenient bases for exploring the region are Boulder, Duck Creek Village, Parowan and Cannonville, where you’ll find delightful bed and breakfast in Utah State. <br><br>Utah’s Canyonlands area is where you’ll find, nestled in a fertile green valley between soaring red sandstone cliffs the beautiful town of Moab, <br>located on the banks of the Colorado River. Moab is close to several national and state parks that made it a popular destination. Just a few miles north of town is Arches National Park, which contains the world’s largest concentration of natural sandstone arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arch, in addition to a variety of unique geological resources and formations. For the outdoor enthusiast there is a wealth of opportunities for adventure, from river rafting to backcountry 4 wheel drive tours in a Hummer® that can virtually navigate any terrain and it takes you to the top of an awe-inspiring overlook for unforgettable memories. You’ll find a large selection of restaurants to suit all tastes from fast food to world-class gourmet cuisine. <br><br>The majestic La Sal Mountains in La Sal serves as a beautiful backdrop to the town attaining heights of 12,721 feet. Here you’ll find narrow forest roads to explore that lead to thigh mountain passes and into narrow canyons like the Dark Canyon where you’ll see the spectacular crystalline rock structure of the peaks, or visit Mill Creek where Oowah Lake sparkles like a small jewel amid spruce trees. In Canyonlands, Rainbow Bridge National Monument is nature's abstract sculpture carved of solid sandstone and is the world's largest natural-rock span, it stands 278 feet wide and 309 feet high and is well worth a visit.<br><br>Blanding is an excellent stopping off point for those travelling to other destinations in the area. Within easy driving distance you’ll find Natural Bridges National Monument and the Abajo Mountains, or for some interesting ancient Pueblo Indian ruins, try the Hovenweep National Monument near the town of Bluff, the name Paiute/Ute means “deserted valley” and was once home to more than 2,500 people in 900 A.D. Noted for its solitude, undeveloped, natural character and sometimes remind visitors of European castles. Straddling the Utah-Colorado border, it forms a group of five well-preserved ruin villages over a twenty-mile radius of mesa tops and canyons, the ruins were built about the same time as medieval fortresses. Along with other pretty towns in the area making excellent exploration bases are: Monument Valley and Bullfrog has a number of cosy, affordable and hospitable bed and breakfast in Utah State to accommodate you. <br><br><br>Salt Lake City the vibrant capital of Utah is magnificently set on the edge of a salt desert and the majestic mountains covered in forests close by are abundant with lakes. The center of the Mormon religion where Brigham Young declared to his followers: “This is the place”. Visit the interesting sights of Historic Temple Square with its impressive six-spire temple, adjacent tabernackle and Beehive House. Apart from the history and culture, you can also find seven skiing areas that has earned it the reputation of having the world's best powder, you’ll also find lots of other recreation available. Lagoon Amusement Park, the Hogle Zoo and Hansen Planetarium are idea for children and grown-ups alike, other important attractions are the Great Salt Lake being the largest body of water in Utah. Nearby towns to enjoy are Eden, Huntsville, Layton, Murray and W Valley City.<br><br>Park City in winter is neatly divided to suit all levels of skiing. There are many ski lifts to take you to all the pistes, there is also the town lift which starts on Park City’s historic main street. For experts and ambitious intermediates there’s the top bowls and black diamond. About a mile away you’ll find Deer Valley, The Canyons with eight incredible mountain peaks and Snowbird, is where you can take the trails themselves rather than the highways. Visit the marvellous Timpanogos Cave National Monument, the steep mountainside of American Fork Canyon is the setting for these incredible limestone caves. The amazing formations are called draperies, popcorn, helicites and flowstone including the well-known stalactites and stalagmites.
