"Our informal atmosphere means comfort -- whether playing a quiet game of solitaire or tackling a jigsaw puzzle in the game room or making new friends among fellow guests in the sitting room, on the front porch or poolside. Each of our nine rooms has a private bath and is furnished with its own blend of original furnishings, antique pieces and modern bedding. Full breakfasts get the day off to a rousing start, and our dinners, served by candlelight at great oak tables, are a gastronomic love affair -- inspired cuisine from throughout the world, including homemade soups, breads and desserts. We offer beers from some of the best Vermont breweries and a short but select list of moderately priced wines. We do not sell liquor but guests who prefer cocktails can mix their own. When you're not eating, sleeping or socializing, you'll probably be active. The inn is adjacent to the Green Mountain National Forest and some of Vermont's best hiking, biking, skiing and fishing are virtually at our doorstep. Golfing, horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, sailing and windsurfing are all nearby as well." |
