Antrim 1844 is located within easy reach of three major metropolitan areas, Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD, and Washington DC. Located less than 15 minutes from Gettysburg's Civil War battlefields, Antrim is in an area rich in history and varied attractions.

From Baltimore: Beltway 695 to exit 19, 795 North. Exit onto Route 140 West. Go through Westminster to the Taneytown traffic circle. Continue on Route 140 by turning right from the circle. Follow approximately 1 mile into Taneytown. Just beyond the Sheetz gas station, turn left on Trevanion Road. Proceed 150 feet and turn right at the first set of brick pillars.

From Washington: Beltway 495 to I-270 West toward Frederick. Take Route 15 North toward Gettysburg. Go to Route 140 East toward Taneytown. In Taneytown, go through the stoplight and over the railroad tracks. In 1/8 mile the road splits; bear right on Trevanion Road. Proceed 150 feet and turn right at the first set of brick pillars.

From Philadelphia: Pennsylvania Turnpike to Harrisburg. Take Route 15 South. Go approximately 35 miles to Route 140 East toward Taneytown. In Taneytown, go through the stoplight and over the railroad tracks. In 1/8 mile the road splits; bear right on Trevanion Road. Proceed 150 feet and turn right at the first set of brick pillars.

Nine guestrooms have been restored within the mansion. Each boasts antiques, fireplaces, canopy feather beds and marble baths, or double Jacuzzis.

Thirty additional rooms and suites (39 total) are located in the unique outbuildings. Each of these special guest rooms has its own fireplace and is furnished with a queen size or king size bed. Located beside the formal gardens, The Ice House has the atmosphere of an English cottage. The Cottage offers a private stay in the original plantation office. The Barn has two rooms, each with its own private deck overlooking woods and a brook. The Carriage House contains six magnificent suites with all of the amenities imaginable. The Smith House hosts two more suites, each luxuriously outfitted for the perfect stay. The eighteen rooms in our newest buildings, have been lavishly decorated in Victorian style with all modern conveniences.

Our guests start the day with a continental breakfast served outside their bedroom door. A formal breakfast is served between 8:30-10:00a.m. and afternoon tea is offered from 4:00-5:00p.m.

The gourmet six-course meal designed by our renowned Executive Chef Michael Gettier will far surpass your expectations of a meal. While the intimate setting of our historic mansion provides an experience all of its own.

Executive Chef Michael Gettier (shown left) prepares a unique menu every evening consisting of hand passed hors d'oeuvres, amuse bouche, choice of three elegant appetizers, a chic salad, intermezzo, choice of four amazing entrées, and a Panaché of desserts. General Manager John Vonnes (shown center) can usually be found checking on guests and making sure your evening is as delightful as expected. Let our Restaurant Manager and Expert Sommelier, Siavash Ayrom (shown right) select the perfect pairing from our cellar of over 15,000 fine bottles of wine.

Games and Reading - Antrim 1844 maintains a selection of books and magazines as well as playing cards and a selection of board games for the enjoyment of our guests. Most of these are available in the second-floor Library in the Mansion.

Swimming Pool - Open during the warm-weather months, the Black-Bottomed Swimming Pool is open from 9:00am – 10:00pm. There is no lifeguard on duty; swimming is at your own risk.

Tennis - The tennis court has an all-weather surface and is available by reservation through the Front Desk, weather permitting, from 9:00am – 9:00pm. Guests may provide their own racquets and balls, but we try to keep a limited supply on hand through the Front Desk.

Putting Green - Guests are welcome to use the putting green during the daylight hours. Putters and balls are available from the Innkeepers at the Front Desk.

Croquet - Antrim 1844 maintains a championship croquet layout on an all-weather surface and the Front Desk will furnish guests with mallets and balls for play year-round during daylight hours.
