Step inside the Greenville Inn and return to another era in an elegantly restored lumber baron’s mansion built in 1895.
Ship's carpenters worked ten years to complete the carved embellishments and the cherry, mahogany and oak paneling found throughout the Inn.
The stairway landing is graced by a spruce tree painted on a large leaded glass window. Fireplaces are ornamented with carved mantels, mosaic and English tiles. Embossed Lincrusta and gas lights adorn the walls.
Return to another era in this restored Victorian mansion offering an easy elegance and a relaxing respite amid the rugged beauty of the Maine wilderness.

All rooms and cottages have private baths. Each room and cottage come equipped with a personal hair dryer, ironing board and iron. For your convenience, we supply all accommodations with a selection of personal toiletries made from the purest of ingredients. The King Rooms, Master Suite, and Tower Suite have complimentary fluffy terrycloth robes. All our linens and towels are of the highest quality with non-allergenic pillows. In winter and fall enjoy the warmth of our down comforters.
Our newly constructed Tower Suite is truly luxurious. We have created the most romantic setting that we could possibly imagine! The suite is located on the top floor in a quiet, private building. Step into another world of deep hues that transport you into a relaxing respite.
Relax and enjoy the sunset in wicker chairs on your private verandah facing the mountains. You will sleep in a king bed draped with soft scarves. While lying in bed, you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. Enjoy the glow of the fireplace while being messaged in our two person whirlpool tub or while snuggling in bed. Watch cable TV or your favorite movie on VCR or DVD while lounging in the tub or bed in our fluffy robes.
There are two sitting areas to enjoy the view or just watch TV. The upper room, which we call the Tower Room, has a sofa bed, an easy chair, cable TV and even a telescope for some romantic star-gazing!
Being up so high, you will be able to enjoy the mountain breezes while sitting privately in our overstuffed easy chairs.
The suite’s bathroom is oversized and tiled in a black and white retro motif. When not soaking in the whirlpool tub, you can enjoy the oversized tiled shower, towel warmer and heating lamp.
If you are looking for something extraordinary…this is it!
Just ask us and we will do our best to make your stay a memorable one.

The Oak Room (rightfully named) is covered in hand-carved wood adornments. The fireplace is surrounded by these carvings and one can see why it took 10 years to build this mansion! This relaxing room calls you to its overstuffed leather chairs and sofa, which you won’t want to depart from. This room also has an original Tiffany lamp from 1910 which adds to the warmth of the atmosphere. Many of our guests enjoy reading or just relaxing in this inviting room.
Our guests are amazed at the woodwork and workmanship in our Cherry Room. And, yes, this room is covered with hand-carved cherry and mahogany. The massive fireplace is, yet another example, of why this inn was 10 years in the making! The original Tiffany lamps from 1910 grace the ceilings and give the room a warm glow. The massive hand-carved fireplace has imported English tiles which are original to the inn. Our grandfather clock chimes a friendly greeting. We invite our guests to enjoy in the Queen Anne mahogany furniture for cocktails or to just relax in.
It has to be seen to be believed!
Most nights our guests are treated to glorious sunsets that can be viewed while enjoying cocktails on the verandah or while sitting on our rolling hill in comfortable adirondack chairs. Enjoy your favorite book while lounging in the midst of our lovely gardens.
We offer four charming cottages…no, not cabins. These lovely private accommodations are located on the hill behind our main building and have spectacular views of the mountains and Moosehead Lake. They are surrounded by our meadows and woods so our guests are sometimes treated to a family of deer grazing nearby. Each cottage has an armoire with a TV which can be viewed from the queen bed or overstuffed sitting area. Each large private bath has a towel warmer for those chilly mornings. For a longer stay, there are walk-in closets to store all your belongings.

| The Moosehead Lake area is full of winter, summer & fall activities. Our lake has a historic steamboat which sails up the 40 mile lake. The moose outnumber us by three-to-one so moose safaris are a very popular activity. Our guests enjoy canoeing, kayaking, hiking, sightseeing and enjoying our fabulous views. In the winter, our guests enjoy snowmbiling, dog-sledding, ice-fishing, skiing and the fabulous snow-covered mountains. In the fall, the mountains and our trees are ablaze with colors. There are many, many activities but there also is time to sit by the fire and enjoy a good book while sipping hot chocolate. Our inn is a five min. walk to the village below where you can enjoy the local shops and restaurants. In the summer and fall, our guests book early to enjoy our truly memorable fine dining restaurant. |
