| DISCOUNTS/SPECIALS: We believe that EVERYONE deserves a fair price. Therefore, we have researched the surrounding area to determine the best rates for what we offer (a beautiful, spacious room with comfortable, clean furnishings, full breakfast in the morning, 24 hour refreshments, 1.3 acre grounds to enjoy). We strongly believe that discounts and specials are a "game". Many properties inflate their prices so that they can offer a "special discount". Some lodging properties do not serve a full, hot breakfast. Check around and compare. You will not find a better value (even with their "specials") for a larger room, a more delicious breakfast, or more friendly, attentive, personal service. |

Located just 10 minutes away to the North, you will find the Andersonville National Historic Site which is comprised of 3 distinct areas. There is the Civil War Prison Site, infamously known as Camp Sumter, the National P.O.W. Museum, and the Andersonville National Cemetery, which continues to be in use today as a burial place of honor for the military. The Andersonville Civil War Village and the Drummer Boy Museum are also in Andersonville. Twice per year Andersonville hosts an historic fair featuring reenactments, arts, crafts, food, etc. Located just 10 minutes away to the West, you will find Plains, Georgia, home of Jimmy Carter and the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site. The National Historic Site is comprised of 3 museums: Jimmy's boyhood farm in Archery, the Plains High School and Visitor Center, and the train depot which was the campaign headquarters. On most Sundays, Jimmy Carter teaches Sunday School at the Maranatha Baptist Church. This is open to the public and people come from all over the world to attend his Bible Study Class. If you stay for worship service, Jimmy and Rosalyn pose for photos with anyone who wants one. In Leslie, just 5 minutes away, the Georgia Rural Telephone Museum is the largest collection of telecommunication memorabilia in the world. Right here in Americus, the International Headquarters for Habitat for Humanity is downtown along with the newly opened Global Village and Discovery Center. They have built replicas of what they find in the different countries that they are active in and along side, they have built replicas of a Habitat House for that region. Koinonia is also right here in Americus. For train enthusiasts, the SAM Shortline Excursion Train runs from Cordele through Americus to Plains.
The Mennonite community of Montezuma is about 20 miles Northeast of Americus, home of Yoder's Restaurant.
Visit the historic downtown district of Americus for shopping and the Rylander Theater. |

For golfers, there are several golf courses within a short distance which are very inexpensive compared to other areas. Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park has a beautiful golf course on Lake Blackshear along with a beach, picnic area, boating and fishing just 25 minutes away. Brickyard Plantation golf course offers an incredible value: only $24 for 27 holes WITH a cart! The Americus Country Club is now a public golf course available 7 days a week located less than 10 minutes from the inn. |
